The Man Behind the Mission
Built Through Pressure.
Called to Help Others Recover.
Brown Charité's entrepreneurial foundation began at the University of South Florida, where he and his team won two consecutive national Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization championship titles—the first coming in only the second year of USF's entrepreneurship program. That early experience confirmed something he would spend the next two decades proving: vision matters, but execution, culture, and the ability to move people matter just as much.
For 17 years, Brown led as a CEO. He grew an operation that began in a 100-square-foot sunroom inside a mobile home into a three-building, 6,500-square-foot beauty estate on waterfront property. Along the way, he built and led a 47-person team and operated an agency, salon, barbershop, and academy—carrying responsibility for people, payroll, operations, culture, growth, and client experience.
His leadership extended beyond his own companies. As president of NAWP Gulf Coast and president of WEPA, the Wedding and Event Professional Alliance, Brown learned how to create shifts, influence professional communities, mobilize people around shared standards, and build dynamic culture across organizations.
Then life tested everything he had built. Recovery Mode® was born from a season when Brown had to lead while bleeding—continuing to make decisions, serve clients, support a team, and raise a family while navigating divorce, financial pressure, grief, and personal crisis behind the scenes. He discovered that recovery is not automatic, accidental, or simply about bouncing back. Recovery requires strategy, honesty, discipline, community, and intentional action.
When the noise became too loud to hear clearly, Brown walked 561 miles from France across Spain to Finisterre on the Camino de Santiago. The journey became a place of recalibration, surrender, clarity, and recovery—and helped shape the body of work he now brings to leaders, teams, and organizations.
Today, Brown Charité is an author, speaker, recovery strategist, and creator of Recovery Mode®. Through keynotes, workshops, leadership development, coaching, consulting, and the Executive Camino Reset, he helps people confront what is happening beneath the surface, rebuild what pressure has been taking from them, and move forward stronger from the inside out.
